I created The Turned Twig in 2000 after taking a class in the Bay Area with my daughter. I found that I enjoyed creating items that were unique but useful and beautiful.

I use mostly local wood...pine, cedar, juniper, oak and some of the local fruit woods such as apple, pear, plum and peach. I soon discovered that horn is also a wonderful medium. It has a warm, soothing feel, and other than the odious fragrance it emits during the turning, I think it is my favorite.

Each item I create is always a "happy surprise" since I never really know how they will turn out until they are turned, sanded and polished into the final product.
